What is Night photography/ Light Painting?

Light painting is an incredibly fun technique in which photographers use flashlights, camera flashes, and spotlights to literally paint light into a scene. Light painting is a technique that uses various light sources along with a long shutter speed, the shutter is left open until the photographer has filled in all the areas wanted then realised this technique lets you shoe exactly what you want in the image by painting it in with a  light, different lights, coloured filters kinds of light for example neon's or strobe create different effect in the image as an artist would use different brushes to paint a picture the different light sources and even gels create different effects.
